The Richmond Museum rotates their entire exhibit on a semi-annual basis. For ‘Open for Business’, they were going to be telling the history of small businesses in Richmond and were hoping for a look that popped. As their museum space is quite small with a modest entrance, they wanted something that could catch those passing by and draw them in.
A big focus of the exhibit was businesses from the past, so I created a branded look for them inspired by vintage era shop signage. Each panel had a unique stylized title reminiscent of the past. Bold fonts and icons combined with a bright colour palette tied the series together and presented a look that anyone walking by couldn’t ignore.
